Hi, I'm using the AIMP music player. After the one of the latest Sony updates, player started to stumble repeatedly, whatever is playing. According to AIMP player's developer, the problem exists only on Sony Z1 Compact and they are unable to fix it, saying that it should be Sony to find the solution. Please help. Thank you in advance.
That's rather interesting, since this is a third party app, Sony doesn't have any involvement, it is up to the app developers to fix this issue.
The difference of the AIMP player is that it is unlikely mostly all of the other players on market can play music from folders directly, with the files sorted according to file system rules, i.e. filenames sorted alphabetically. All other players which I tried, and I tried whole bunch of them are arranging files according to mp3 tags and generally work with playlists. I am not a developer for the Android, but I guess that most of the players are using some built-in android library for that and so are limited in that way. AIMP seems to have it's own approach, which has worked fine on my device before the lollipop update came out. According to developer, and other people on AIMP's support forum, the issue exists ONLY on Sony Z1 Compact with lollipop update, so they recommended to sort it out rather with Sony. Thank you and hope on your cooperation.
But since we are not told what the exact issue is, it's really hard to help you.
I tried with the Sony Music app and Google Play Music app and they both sort my FLAC and MP3 files according to the album (not alphabetically). Since you say you tested, I suspect your files don't have the meta tag Track Number filled in.
If you can supply me with some of your files, I'm willing to test and see if I can reproduce your problem and try to find an app that works as you want.
Assuming he only has copyrighted music, we can also test with music from here:

Just let me know which songs you used for your test.
SONY will not fix anything (other more important issues are ignored) but you may try for example Folderplayer. All my songs are numbered and they play by numbers so maybe it will work for you too.
You should not make claims like that, users have the option to interact with the Music app developers http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Music/Walkman-Beta-Test/m-p/953659#U953659
not all brands have this opportunity.
Yes, they have the chance (I am part of the group as well) but the app are still lacking compared to other applications. I used to have HTC and their stock apps worked alot better. The SONY Music app now is better but for example the Album is terrible.
