Problems discovered in new Xperia T Jelly Bean update

The JB Update for Xperia T has been long awaited, and now it's here. It's a magnificent update with tons of new features and optimisations, however, I would like to bring some insight regarding a few problems I found out about to the Sony Support Staff :

1) The weather widget, which I loved and was the only weather app/widget I used due to it's sleek design and animation, now has a major flaw. Althoug it works properly, for some reason It creats a LOT of lag when put on a homescreen, while sliding across screens. The lag seems to have something to do with the animation, as it stops the second you start to slide and begins 1-2 secs after you stop sliding and look at the screen it's on. If you slide across screens, the one where the weather widget is on creates quite a huge lag, drops a lot of frames, whereas in the ICS version there was absolutely no lag, and no such problem. Seems to need a bit of optimisation! I'd love if Sony would become aware of it and work on it as soon as possible, because it's a shame to use a 3rd party app for weather when the native one is so beautiful and simple

2) Just like the weather widget, the Walkman widget also seems to cause lag, but significantly less than the aforementioned one. Again, the widget created no problem on the ICS version, so we're probably talking about some optimisation that needs to be done

3) For some reason, after updating to JB, the game NFS Most Wanted has been rendered incompatible with the Xperia T (according to Google Play), and thus can't be installed, which is annoying since it's a great game and everyone who has it payed 5-6 euros on it. I don't know if EA Games or Sony Mobile should adress the problem, but it needs  a quick fix as it's aggravating, shince now we're talking about "locked" money and entertainment.

Hope this helps and gets to the ears of the Sony Mobile staff responsible for coding the software!

Yep, but it is also an thinmg that happens to all Android phones when you install a big update or reset your phone. Android needs to "settle down" then

I've had no issues with the battery. Seems the same to me as ICS. I'm running JB version .489. It depends what you are doing. Tethering will run it down pretty fast. Any high usage will drain it pretty quickly.

That linked page has been updated with two newer updates too. I wonder which versions we'll get, whether a couple are regional or network variations, or... what? One of those March 18th versions is the first we've seen to have B in the build number, I wonder what that signifies?

Adding to the list of problems:

Ever since the upgrade, whenever I create an event on exchange calendar and add attendees to it and save it, there are two invites sent out. This creates two appointments in the recepients' calendars for the same event and eventually they have to delete one and accept the other. I have checked and this is not a problem with my exchange account setup because it is working fine through outlook, OWA and even thunderbird which I have on my laptop.

I have tried a factory reset and re-installing 4.1.2 but that hasn't helped. Not sure if this is a bug with firmware or JB.

So it's been about a month now, I think my phone should have settled down but I'm still getting random bugs, lagging sound, crashing apps, switching the screen brightness to full at random times (enough to wake you at night). The battery life has improved but I think thats because I don't use it as much as I did & it's still not as good as it was under ICS

The Dialer/Contacts are still white (Yuk!) still stuck with the stupid grey bar even though "Google Now" is switched off

Are we ever going to get a fix or chance to downgrade or am I now stuck with a phone I dislike using for the next 18 months? Slightly_frowning_Face

Since the update I can't select a mp3 as a tone for an incoming message or any other alert. I can only use one for the ringtone. How is this possible? Before I could use both... Anybody encountering the same problem? Is there already a solution? thx

Messages >> Menu 3 dots >> Settings >> Notification Tone >> Sound Picker (Just Once) >> Octave (top right)

You may have selected Always in the past, then you need to do this first.

Settings >> Apps >> Menu 3 dots  >> Reset App Preferences

AM i the only one having this issue, when you try to open an attachment on your Gmail or Outlook via the phone it just downloads, but doesn't open, and when you try to open it it  fails ? I have Kigsoft and Acrobat reader, it should do the trick Slightly_frowning_Face

By failing you mean it crashes or it just won't open if you press the open or install button?
