Problems after JB Update

I upgraded my Jelly Bean software 4.1.2 and now I am no longer able to take advantage of LTE on the Bell Mobility account. I am also not able to send or receive picture messages and I need to do this daily for my work. I called Bell and after, resetting the phone software, tring to adjust to APN, they have determined that is is a SOFTWARE issue Sony needs to have fixed in JB.

Please help. I have had NOTHING BUT problems with this device. I may NEVER buy another Sony device if this is not corrected!

Chris

you can flash LT30at or the original firmware on your phone > then flash again but  exclude the baseband

How to manually update, debrand & downgrade 2012 Xperias

Are you suggesting to go back to the former firmware rather than seeing if there is a sony fix coming up. I really want to use JB. It`s a nicer interface. I just want my messages and LTE to work

I do not undestand your question. I have an LT30a. Sony Companion never gave me a choice of model number when I accepted the 4.1.2 upgrade

my bad, if you don't know anything about "flashtool" then you probably updated your phone with PC Companion?

I had similar issue with my Xperia TL, the probblems were

1) I use flashtool instead of pcc since AT&T hasn't release JB but that was fixed by rebranding the phone then excluding the baseband, this doesn't apply to you

2) the network's customer service people doesn't seem to know a lot or they just go by the book, either or they sent me the APN setting OTA, I even asked them if they can just tell me the APN settings to cross check, they don't have access to them just to send them, so you could ask them to send you the APN settings OTA, that didn't helped me

3) I figured it out

you need the correct APN settings for LTE

settings > more > mobile networks > LTE/WCDMA/GSM > Access point name > Bearer > LTE (make sure that you are in an LTE coverage area otherwise you wont get any data at all, you can leave it as Unspecified), double check the Authentication type (what worked for me is Not Set, instead of mms, hipri, etc etc)
