Problem with tethering

Hi there

Running a Xperia SP with a MacBook Pro 10.8.4. I don't get the error message when trying to tether via USB, Bluetooth or Wireless hotspot, the Macbook picks them up fine.

However I then open Chrome, and the apps are highlighted which suggests an internet connection, but no webpage will open up. Email doesn't work either.

Very frustrating because I feel its almost there, but something is blocking or a setting needs to be defined. Plenty of speed of mobile data - either 3g+ or H+ so that's not the problem.

Turn the stamina mode off and see if that makes difference. Stamina mode will automatically disable your data connection when the screen is off and no upload our download is going on.

By switching Internet Tethering to ON(both WiFi Hotspot and USB Cable Tether),it will automatically turn the Stamina Mode to OFF.Now what you can do is,try contacting your Service Provider(the one that provides you with the SIM Card) and ask them whether there is "Mobile Data Mode" or "Broadband/Tethering Mode",if it exist, then ask them again how to change between those two modes. This is necessary because if you choose Mobile Data Mode,it will ony enable Internet to be surfed by the phone ONLY,and can't be used for tether. As for the Broadband/Tethering Mode,it works vice versa. The Internet can't be surfed by phone but it can only be shared for the use of other devices(ie. laptop etc).
