I just had it done through my service provider and payed $120 (CAN). It really upset me because the crack "appeared" only a week after purchasing it. I say "appeared" because I'm absolutely am dumbfounded as to what caused this to happen seeing as I haven't dropped and keep it in a padded case on my belt. I chalked up this mishap as a freak accident and being satisfied with the repair tried to forget about it and move on... After all of this I'm sure anyone would understand my disappointment, anger, and utter frustration when 2 week's later ANOTHER crack mysteriously appeared AGAIN! I can say with absolute honestly that I'm no way at fault in causing this to happen. As I said the 1st time I was convinced that it was a freak accident and could accept that, but to happen again in such a short period of time something isn't right, it just doesn't add up. I don't know what to do now. Warranty didn't cover it the 1st ttime, and even though there's not a single scratch, scuff, or any sign of an impact I'm sure sending it away would only accomplish the same results leaving me with with a antique loner phone for ANOTHER 4-5 weeks AGAIN. After being a die hard Samsung fan for the past 8-10 years without incident (except water damage which was my doing, hence my decision to come over to Xperia) I'm bringing to wonder if I made a mistake making the switch to Sony. I don't know what to do! I'm disabled and live on a fixed income and frankly can't afford to spend another $120 but at the same time I'm concerned that if I don't have it repaired it could lead to more damage and can't trust for it to be waterproof which was why I got the phone. Even worse say I managed to get the funds to repair it or chances are a week or two will pass and another crack will appear. It would be no different than throwing $240 in the trash leaving me with nothing but a really expensive broken phone. I could go on but I think that's already enough of a rant. This has became a nightmare for me. It's actually a shame because this issue with the rear panel is my only complaint, I llove everything else about the phone, but if Sony doesn't resolve my issue I will makes sure myself and everyone I know will not purchase a Sony Smart Phone.
