prblems with running apps

gud evening,i would love to know what i should do on my experia mini pro..is using all my airtime...after i

dowloaded new andriod software..i dnt want any app's running on the background...

I have to go to apps n stop it manually n the running services....

Do i have to clear my phone......any 1 help pls.....

Can you advise what applications this is in regards to as no matter what there will always be apps running in the background as this keeps the Android platform running.
