After the ICS update my SOLA has gone a little slow. I don't really mind the lagginess and I can live with it. But I would be really happy if that is gone and I can play more games without having to close those extra running apps. Who doesn't like a swift experience? So I was wondering;

1) Is there a possible way that I can increase the RAM of SOLA? As far as I know mobile chipsets are some what same as computers. The RAM is the hardware and so not easy to change in mobiles. However, I am here asking for a way to use a part(or whole) of my internal/external storage as a Ram. I have gone through a couple of blogs/forums and it seems like it is possible if I root my device. But I was wondering if there is a way to possibly do it without rooting the device?

2) Is there a way possible I can overclock my cpu/gpu without rooting the device?

3) Does rooting the device in itself voids the warrenty? Or the warrenty gets void if I turn it into a brick?

4) If I once root the device, can I turn it back into the same device as it was earlier? I mean can I lock the root back? (I hope I make myself clear)

P.S Thank you sony for the much awaited ICS. Any kind of suggestions to increase the speed of the device are welcome.

P.P.S I would like sony moderators to answer this.

antitheft doesn't quite work, if the phone it's off or if the SIM card it's removed or if the phone it's reset or repaired with SUS or PCC or Bridge, you can use other apps like find my droid etc to find your phone's location

I rooted my sola without flashing any roms, just connected phone to pc, downloaded program from xda and rooted in 2 mins.

@Asakura.. Could u pls post the xda thread, where u got the root instructions?

Also, r u on GB or ICS?

Binary v9, enable USB debugging and install supplied Windows drivers.

I'm sorry but i no longer can find the thread I'm on ICS btw, and with the same program unrooting procedure is easy too. I have the rooting app in my comp and if you want i can send you it.
