My phone is not working correctly. It has gotten wet today, it is supposed to be waterproof. The phone initially worked after it got wet. Then it stopped. It started acting up. My question is, how does a water proof phone not have warranty repair if it gets wet? The tech guy from sony, eventually told me that the screen would not work if it had water damage. He also had me looking for the red x to show water damage, which it also does not have. If it turns out it does have water damage, I would not have bought it if I would have known that it can still be damaged if it got wet.
I know how to use it, its gotten wet numerous times and even taken pictures under water with no damage. I am just questioning the warranty. Why not cover water damage if it is water proof.
If you didn't firmly closed the flaps/covers before submerging the phone in water or if you use your phone at a pool or ocean then it will damage the phone, contact your local Xperia care and request a vacuum test
They were all closed. I have taken pictures with the camera fully submerged in the past. The rep I talked with at Sony was quite rude and said its verizons problem. The verizon rep called sony back and had the same experience.
I do not understand why you offer a fully water proof phone but then do not cover water damage. I would have bought the samsung if I were aware. It is much easier to find an accessory for a samsung or an apple phone. I was outside playing with my two sons in a kiddy pool.... taking pictures of them.
I am not even sure it has water damage. The sony tech said I should not be able to even see the screen if it did. I am not waiting to see what verizon can do for me.
I'm sorry to hear that, you need to get your phone checked by either Verizon or Sony
