Portable WIFI Hotspot disables WIFI

Recently when I try to enable the portable WIFI Hotspot by turning WIFI on  (icon turns blue on off changes to on), going to More/Tethering and portable hotspot, clicking Portable Wi-Fi hotspot (check mark turns blue).

However when I go back to Settings Wi-Fi it has been turned off.

the hotspot cannot be detected.

When you enable your phone as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot, it will disable any ongoing Wi-Fi operations including the Wi-Fi itself. When you use the phone as a hotspot, the network that will be shared is the mobile network via your network provider.

That's normal, your phone can only receive or send Wi-Fi one thing at the time.

Had a seniors moment and forgot the 2 are mutally exclusive. At the same time forgot I changed the password.
