poor sound quality when handsfree connected

i recently bought xperia z its working fine but the problem is its sound quality. i'm a blackberry 8520 user when i connect handsfree on my xperia z the sound quality is very poor compare to BB 8520. is everyone having the same problem or i have got a defected product from sony? please let me know
