How can I tell where messaging issues are coming from?

I used to use GOSMS and I uninstalled it thinking that was the problem. I did like it but it was buggy too.

I now use Handcent because I haven't found anything better :smileysad:. Have tried ChompSMS but it opens for a couple of seconds and disappears.

These are text issues, not mms:

I get the same message received from one message sent (in one day the highest was 15).

I don't receive messages when they are sent (received one at 2am when it was sent at 3pm the day before).

I don't receive them at all - hence don't know they've been sent unless someone asks or tells me.

If I send one to myself, it works with out a problem.

Reading back, it kind of sounds like a carrier issue more than the phone or the message client.

Any ideas?

Does these issues happen when you are using the standard SMS application as well, or just while using the 3rd party ones (GOSMS, ChompSMS, Hancent)?

Sorry the reply took so long. I can't open the stock sms app. It opens then disappears too. I junked "chomp" and was only using Handcent but it is still happening. I've recently had the sim replaced to no effect.

At present, this is the least of my problems with the handset.

Once a factory reset has been done - if I have the patience, I'll find out whether this problem still occurs.
