When I try and install anything from the playstore on my SONY Xperia L (Model C2105), I get the message “there is insufficient space on the device”.
I removed all the photos from the phone.
Android version: 4.2.2
Build Number 153.A.114
Checking storage it says:
Device memory:
Total Space: 1.57GB
Available: 150MB
Apps 1.15GB
Cached Data: 66.64MB
Internal storage:
Total space: 4.01 GB
Available: 3.29GB
Apps: 420MB
Pictures: 204MB
Can anyone provide advice how I can install\upgrade apps again wiht this block error. Thanks!
Try clearing the cache from the Play store app - Settings then Apps, Swipe to all and locate and open Google play service and tap on Clear cache and data and then reboot and test
Everything you installed is saved on the device memory. Those 150 MB aren't that much, you should transfer from device memory and internal memory to SD all the media files.
Thanks Thommo. I cleared the cache and data as descibed and restarted. I get the same error 😞
Thanks Alexdon. There are no photos\videos left on my device. I don't have a SD card for it. The amount of apps I have installed should not force me to have to buy a sd card surely?
You should be able to move from device memory to internal if you go to settings-apps and select an app which you have installed.
I checked for some of the biggest memory apps, facebook, google+, the move to internal storage option was grayed out. For OfficeSuite I was able to select move to internal storage, which I did. That left device memory 1.57GB as follows:
Apps: 1.17
Cached data: 33.10MB
Available: 157MB
I then tried to update 1 app and got the same message.
You cannot move default apps unfortunately.I have told you that only apps that you have installed.
Hi Alexdon, I'm sorry but I don't follow your mail. What should I do now?
You will not be able to move to internal the applications that are default like facebook, chrome etc.
