Phone unresponsive after update

There were problems with my phone before the update, in that the screen would stay completely blank, even though the battery is fully charged and the lights beneath the screen (home, menu and back buttons) were lit and you could hear and feel vibrations if you touched the screen. I have tried the power and vol + up buttons together and this did not work, so I did an update on PC companion and now the phone is completely unresponsive. I have repeated the process using the repair phone option on PC companion and still no change. The only thing the phone will do now is have a green led light when it is plugged into charge. I have also tried the discharging and charging of the battery but still no change. Any other ideas please??? Thank you!

This is exactly what has happened with mine too, roughly the same time frame, started on Monday evening. Completely stumped as to what's wrong with it - it was fine one minute, dead the next...

Oh well, back to the erratic but functioning HTC it is...
