You can try to start your Xperia mini in safe mode:

If the problem still persists I suggest that you repair the phone software using PC Companion:

Hello Alexander,
Thanks For your Comments.
I was not able to figure out how to boot in Safe mode for my Phone model (Xperia X10 mini ST15i).
Other thing, I was using Android 2.3 earlier, which I have updated to 4.0 using PC companion The problem started after update. As I have not changed/added any application to my phone after update, I don't think it could be an issue with Applications.
Is there any other update that I can try with PC companion which could solve this issue.?

You have Xperia mini (st15i) and not Xperia X10 mini (e10i).
This is how you start in safe mode:
"Xperia phones using touch menu key running on Android GB (2.3.X) or ICS (4.0.X)
Turn off your phone. Wait a few seconds and then turn it on again. Now during the boot process start tapping the menu key continuously and keep tapping until the phone has booted completely. Not too fast, not too slow. The beat of Iron man by Black Sabbath is just right.
To exit safe mode you simply power off and power on as normal."
You can try to reinstall/repair the phone software using PC Companion.
In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone". Follow the instructions in PC Companion.
Starting my phone in safe mode helped me. I let my phone work in safe mode for some hours.Leter on when I switched back to normal phone mode,The problem was resolved. I have never faced this problem after that time.
Thanks for the help.
