Phone Stuck On Boot Screen Loop

Suddenly having an issue where my phone is continuously rebooting itself after I powered it off earlier.

Was running perfectly normal, hadn't shut down since I updated to the latest android version, hadn't done any changes to the phone other than install one app (Adblock Browser Beta). However, when I powered it off and tried to turn it on again, after showing the "Sony Xperia" logo, then "Powered by Android", and finally the blue graphic, the screen shuts off and it then returns to the "Sony Xperia" logo and loops until I hard reset.

VERY rarely the phone would reach the unlock screen, however, any interaction with the touch screen (Was able to input half my password) or any use of the side buttons would immediately cause a crash and the phone would power off and begin to loop. I noticed the phone gets very hot during this.

I tried to repair the phone using PC companion. After the process, turning on the phone lead to optimizing apps. About 100 apps were optimised, and then the phone rebooted. It then did about 80 more apps, and rebooted again. It optimised the last 2 apps, and rebooted once again. Now, after the blue graphic, I reach a language select screen. However interacting with the phone in anway causes a reboot.

Interestingly, if the phone is connected to a computer,a red light is shown, even when the battery is on 70%+ charge?

I'm kind of at a loss for what to do here. Does anyone have any idea?

You did not repair your phone, you reinstalled. Do a full repair as it looks like some app(s) are causing this issue. If it was a true Repair you'd not get 100 apps optimizing, as PC Companion phone repair will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory.

Open PC companion -> Support zone -> Phone/tablet software update -> Repair my phone/tablet (blue link style). Follow the steps given, do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.

Sorry, but I'm afraid that is what I did the first time. It didn't work.

I did it again just to make sure, and I got the exactr same problem.

I thought it was strange that I still had so many apps on my phone, but I don't have an SD card with apps saved on, so it should have deleted them twice now.

That's really odd. Would you try doing a factory reset from Settings menu also?

The settings menu on the phone? I can't use it. The phone fails to start and crashes almost immediately when it doesn't, and shuts down. I can't get to any menus.

Then try resetting from the small red button below your SD card flap cover, press and hold it for 3-5 seconds.

You mean the SIM card slot? There is no button in the SD slot.

The red button just hard resets the phone, which doesn't do anything other than stop the loop until I try to power the phone on again.

EDIT: The phone booted up and seemed to be working ok get through the set-up and it seems that my phone DID clear all data.. Wasn't reading my SIM card though so I took it out and re-inserted it, which prompted the phone to restart. It won't turn on again..

EDIT 2: After looping a few times it decided to start working again. It turned on is working fine. I don't even. I didn't do anything different. Why.

EDIT 3: Behaviour seems random. crashes randomly, starts randomly. Still behaving wrong after 2 factory resets so it's probably a hardware thing. Getting the phone replaced :L
