Phone restarts when SIM is inserted

Hi

My Sony Xperia M2 keeps turning on and off when I insert my LTE simcard. It is not a manufactures simcard as it was cut in the MTN shop. The other thing is that when the Sim card is not inserted into the phone it stays on  for longer, but also turns on and off and my battery power jumps around. Could it be faulty simcard? And is it possible that the charger won;t connect correctly so the phone doesn't charge probaly. It is not even 10 months old.

Please advise.

A manually cut SIM card will generally cause problems, contact your operator and obtain a new SIM card of the proper size.

Yeah, that's true. The sim card maybe faulty as you suspect.
