Can't Enable Data Traffic

My xperia u handset was working fine but now data traffic is not getting enabled.The only thing I remember before this issue occurred is that my battery was low so I had disabled data from Settings>more>Mobile networks>Data Enabled.Im no longer  able to enable traffic even if I check the data enabled.Whenever im enabling traffic, the alert message is coming up that it will attract additional charges but don't see the E icon on top of network strength symbol

Reboot your phone..and make sure wifi is off..and test it

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Just to clarify, is mobile data enabled or does it get disabled by it self?

If it's enabled and you don't get an internet connection, try to download new internet settings under settings > Xperia > internet settings. Also make sure that the network mode is set to WCDMA/GSM under settings > more > mobile networks > network mode.

Thank you guys for your replies to my problem but now it is working fine.Yesterday a notification came from one of the app installed in my phone,after which im no longer facing the issue

I've also had problems with this but I have tried the above, it didnt' help
