Phone not reading memory card

Hello Sir,

  I have purchased Sony Xperia "c" mobile on 6 Feb. 2014. My phone is not detecting the memory card. Whenever i am inserting a memory card into my phone, my all phone data is deleted automatically and phone is also not detecting the memory card. If i am connecting my phone with laptop without inserting any memory card then my laptop is also not detecting the phone memory. I purchased this phone from

 Yesterday when i went to the shop from which i have purchased the phone, a person at that shop was giving me excuses like virus and all. After they have formatted my phone. But still they my phone is not detecting the memory card. Now they are saying that i have to visit their service center and all. This was my first time that i have chosen Sony and see the response this phone has not worked well more than 2 months. It’s my request to Sony please my resolve my problem as soon as possible.

Sorry to hear about the behavior you experience with your Xperia C. 

Have you tried the phone with different memory card or have you just tried with one card? 

Also you can try to format the SD card using a memory card reader and connect it to the PC. Right click on the SD card in the file explorer on the PC and select to format it.

Hi Team,

This is very frustrating, I've tried all sort of thing, Formatting Sd card through PC, using different Memory card in my phone Xperia c,

Non of the memory card is reading on my phone, sometimes it gives an error  ( Memory unavailable - Memory  unmounted or unavailable. Mount memory to continue), I've cleared media storage cache that worked, I am not getting that error any more but memory card is not reading.I've even tried setting up to factory default setting nothing worked.

Please recommend any solution before i throw this phone and never opt for sony and never recommend my friend's too

Hello .did u try insert another sd card ? I am using a class 4 SanDisk 8gb card since last year. It works fine for me .

I've tried with 3 different memory cards none of them works and all the memory cards are working fine on my laptop, I don't know if firmware update or software reinstalltion would work?

My xperia c is 16.0.B.2.16. Non-root. try to Format the sd card first.(make sure u backup the things in the card ) and insert the card

Dear friend,

As it was told first try to format your SD card, BUT remember that Android does not recognize NTFS format, neither it does with ReFS. Format it in FAT32 only! If your card is more than 32GB find in internet how to format it in FAT32. If it doesn't help, you've really got problems with phone.

Good day,

I was given a Sony xperia c2305 duo
and I have never been more dissapointed with a product as I am with this crap phone
You people are my last resort, that is if I am speaking to a human and not some aotumated robot.

This stupid piece of crap says NO MEMORY CARD detected
After I have tried everything from reformatting to buying 2 new cards in case one was faulty

Please advise me on what to do before I tell all I know to return their phones and then I will throw mine from 11th floor apartment window
