Phone hangs when taking second picture

Took delivery of this new phone just 2 weeks ago and so far have been very happy apart from one thing.  The camera.....  it takes the picture great and saves (SD card) for the first picture but then on the 2nd one the whole phone freezes and becomes unresponsive.  It sometimes comes back after 5-10 minutes but sometimes the only way is to reboot the phone.

Have tried dialing down the resolution but no improvement.  Haven't really installed anything on it yet other than the usual (Facebook, messenger, outlook etc).

Any ideas?

Hi @JLA,

That sounds odd. This happens every time you take a second picture or does it happen occasionally?

You mentioned that you save the pictures to an SD card, does this also happen if you choose to save pictures to the internal storage?

Hi JLA

You could also go through some basic troubleshooting, such as clearing the camera application, as this could be bad data.

Menu > Settings > Apps > Clear Cache

if this does not help then try clearing its data

Menu > Settings > Apps > Clear Data

Let us know how you get on.

We swapped to saving on the phone storage and it hasn't happened since.  Unfortunately it's not really practical long term as storage size is an issue.

Will try clearing cache etc and swapping back to the SD card and see what happens.

Just FYI I have the same SD card (make and size in my Xperia) with no issue.

It could be u have a slow microsd, so try to get a new and wonderful sdcard for your wonderful Z5

I've got a +10 Samsung and I can make more than one photo at the same time without problems.

Infact u solved when u swapped to save on internal storage, so it's a microsd problem Winking_Face

As Robertods88 suggests it sounds like this could be related to this specific SD card.

If this keeps happening I suggest that you make a backup of the content on the card, then format it through Settings > Storage > Erase SD card.
