Phone does not start after unsuccessful update

Hello Team,

I tried updating my Xperia E1 using PC Companion.Did all the download etc, but while updation, a message come "check your internet connection" and no updation was possible.

Further, when trying to restart the phone, only a Sony Logo comes up and it does work any better.

Please suggest an immediate solution. Hope to hear back soon.

Thank you Uliwooly for the suggestion.

I tried the steps but then again some Download error pops up which says  "Please check your Internet Connection".

I am really not sure but to ascertain that the net connection is fine.

perhaps a firewall or antivirus that might be creating this problem
