Phone crashed after new update

just updated the new software.the software installed.but now the phone just flashes between the 'Sony' and 'xperia' logos.nothing else happens.the power button doesnt work.

iv tried the hard reset and holding the power/volume buttons together.the phone will turn off but will always just flash between the 2 logos once its started.ive also tried using the usb to my laptop to connect the phone to the sony pc companion but it wont recognize the phone.

so can anyone help.

the phone just burst into life.its taken an hour or so after the initial upgrade (hence the panic in posting a message)

phones working now.

crashed again.it powered up properly.said the software installed succcessfully but couldnt use it.left it for a while and then just powered it off for a while (which then took ages to power off.turned it off and the same thing is happening as per my original post
