Hello all,
I have been using Sony Xperia z3 compact since 20th October this year( Less than a month) and today my phone automatically shut down. After the shut down, I can't turn on my phone. I tried the power+volume up key to turn on the phone and after 5s it vibrates thrice and nothing happens after. Anymore attempts to turn on the phone is futile. Sometimes after awhile of waiting, I can randomly turn it on the normal way, yet after awhile it randomly shuts down again.
Here is a photo showing the battery usage. I have indicated the part where the auto shut down occurs.
Is there any way i can fix this problem?
*UPDATE*
I have gotten back my phone from the service centre.
The technician told me that there was a problem with the software, and they did a factory reset+software update.
It solves the problem and after using the phone for 1 day,I do not see any recurrence of sudden deaths or autoshutdown.
*2nd Update*
It seems that the problem is back again. My phone is autoshutting down again. This is extremely disappointing and a waste of my time and convenience. I suspect that it is a defective model. Its been less than a week since I've gotten back my phone.
I have brought my phone to a local sony service centre.. the technician there will try to figure out i guess. As this is the first time im switching to Sony, it is indeed quite disappointing. Even on my way out of the service centre I over heard a lady having a similar, auto shut down situation, hers is a similar sony phone.
keep us updated

A question: why are all these moderators acting out like this is a new issue and taking users on wildgeese chase?
This is sudden death problem that should be handled effectively instead of trying to dupe new users experiencing the problem into trying solutions that will not permanently solve the issue.
Software upgrade does not permanently solve sudden death issue!
Please moderators upgrade your trouble shooting protocol to identify recurring problems and advise users accordingly. Don't waste the time of users when it comes to a critical failure of Sony on this issue of sudden death (phone switching off and not responding to standard reboot operations).
I have suffered for 6 months because of this: phone delivered to Sony Service Center but died again. Definitely because Sony does not approach this issue with the seriouness it deserves!
Same issue that it mentioned in the first post.
Phone automatically shutdown. I tried the power+volume up key to turn on the phone and after 5s it vibrates thrice and nothing happens. After sometime i can turn it on normally. several times it happend. I have updated the phone with the latest 5.1 and tried the repired option also through PC Companion. Please help me with a solution to fix this issue.
I bought a new z3+dual and the same problem. Since I start using it the cell phone shuts down, perhaps I can use it 10 minutes or perhaps 5. The only way to turn it on or to use it is when it is charging, if not I can not use it. I trying to repair with the PC companion but it shuts down anyway.
Could you please let me know it there is any solution to this? I called Sony and they told me I should contact the person who sold me the mobile....but they are in Miami and I live in Argentina. I want to repair the cell phone....
Realy I can´t believe what it happend. It is the first time I have a problem with Sony, and nobody have the solution. It is assumed that the z3+ is a high category equipment and this should mean a high client's service, but not....
Thanks for your help!!
