Hello Everyone
I've been facing this problem with my Arc for some time now... on connecting the phone to my PC, the touch-screen starts malfunctioning and im unable to navigate from left to right or the other way round... the icons shrink up onto one screen as on pinching the screen with two fingers. Can anyone tell what might be the problem?
Hi, it could be a software glitch .... factory reset phone to see if this resolves the problem. If not, you may have to try software repair. Be aware that both process will erase phone data completely, refer to link provided for backup procedure, http://talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/31537.
I had recently updated my phone to the new software version, i'd hoped if the problem was with the software then it would be resolved but it still remained.. Neverthless, i've even done a factory rest as u suggested but no change. Can it be a hardware problem?
If a software repair did not resolve your issue, suggest sending phone to your local SE Service Centre for evaluation and rectification.
I have the same problem on my Xperia Arc S. Haven't found the solution so far, but I guess it isn't the cable fault, because when phone is conected to the charger, there is nothing wrong with touch.
Hi.. Issue resolved!
Turns out that it was a software problem. Here's what I did: uninstalled PC companion and update engine from my computer , ran full antivirus scan( nothing turned up though), installed PC companion anew and downloaded a fresh software copy for my phone, ran the installation.
I think it might have been a faulty update afterall... Give it a try and see if it helps.
Glad to hear that, quite likely it is due to error in the previous software update.
