so, the workaround for pc companion refusing to see my sola is to clear the mpt-app data before each connection attempt and hope for the best. sucks, but at least I can get it to connect.
however, now I cannot see the internal storage anymore. pc companion complains that either my screen is locked or I need to enter my sim pin. both of which are incorrect. so now I can't backup my phone.
does anybody have a workaround for this too ?
http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php How about using a different application altogether, such as My Phone Explorer?
although I haven't tried it, I doubt it would work. it seems the phone simply refuses to switch to usb mass storage mode for the internal storage. it doesn't show up in windows either. although the phone itself claims that the internal storage is connected to a pc...
come to think of it : the problem seems more related to the phone itself than to pc companion...
Well, you could try connecting to My Phone Explorer via Bluetooth or WiFi, instead of USB cable.
tried it, but doesn't work. program won't connect over bluetooth (advises me to remove the battery for 2 minutes, funny stuff :smileywink:) even though it's paired in windows. wifi won't work either (something about being unable to find the phone's IP).
And what about connecting with a USB cable? If this is also problematic, make sure that USB debugging is turned on in your phone and failing that, try installing the My Phone Explorer client in your phone and then see if you can establish a connection with the PC version:

Other options include changing the phone's default USB mode or trying a different PC.
haha, enabling usb debugging caused windows to see the internal storage again... I shouldn't be laughing of course, these kinds of workarounds should be unneccesary...
oh well, saved for now.
Good, glad it's sorted!
