I'm still having problems with pc companion and/or pairing in general. over usb, chances are about 90% pc-companion will not be able to connect. randomly rebooting either the phone or pc might help, but only sometimes. in general it comes down to simply try and try again until you get lucky. the usb-connector will probably fail within a year with all the connecting/disconnecting I'm doing...
trying to pair the device over a usb cable to use wifi similarly leeds nowhere. I follow the procedure as stated by pc companion, but I never get a paring dialog on the phone and/or the pc's connection never shows up in the connectivity menu. annoyingly, during this procedure pc companion says it succesfully connects to the phone, something that seems impossible with a direct usb connection.
similarly, pairing with a ps3 is impossible.
is it just me (unlikely) ? is pc companion crappy (that's a resounding 'yes') ? can the sola even be paired over wifi ? (the jury's still out on that one, but it seems unlikely).
getting more and more disappointed with this phone and sony support in general. chatting and calling support only amounts to 'just send it to your retailer to get it replaced', which means I'm without a phone for weeks...
Which build number are you running on in your sola?
What version of PCC is it that you're using?
pc companion 2.10.094 Production 25
firmware 6.0.B.3.184
the problem has existed with earlier versions of both too.
Johan if you look around in other threads you might see that its a well known issue by know. So is there a progress in this?
I have the same pc companion version with the same firmware. It connected to pc companion once or twice when I had .564 firmware, but no luck after upgrading.

Unfortunately I have no better answer at the moment than try to replicate the problem on another computer. I will have to look around and see how common this problem is. So if you have seen others threads about this particular problem please link them.
I've already tried on 2 pc's and a laptop (all win7 64 bit), same problems.
I can add that clearing the data of MtpApp _seems_ to work for me. I can't say it always worked, but when I tried this morning (when pc companion again didn't see the phone) it succesfully connected.
@Johan, this issue has been reported by many users if you go through the forum discussions. The solution that worked for me is clearing the MtpApp and reconnecting. Then again, the internal storage is shown as blank. After 10-15 minutes, the internal storage is visible in the pc.
This issue existed since the firmware version 1.564 through 3.184 and till the latest PC Companion software. I have to do this everytime I need to connect the phone to the PC.
