Your phone will stop charging once it reaches 100%
Would it be ok to just leave the phone connected to the charger before going to bed and let it charge until the next morning?
Yes
:smileysmileywink: I always leave mine fully plugged in overnight. Never had any issue. With stamina mode on it really does last me all day with moderate use.
Generally the circuit will be automatically cut off when the Li-ion battery of cellphone is fully charged. But different devices have different built-in parameters to limit voltage and circuit. Sometimes it still keeps charging when the battery is full. For example, the input voltage and circuit of a dock is incompatible with your Li-ion. Then the over-charge phenomenon will occur.

I have discharged my xperia z1 few times fully in couple of months and also charged the phone fully after it gets switched off itself. Would that cause any problem?
And do we need to calibrate the battery? If yes please tell me.
And how the battery of xperia z1 suppose to be charged for longer battery life?
I have heard/read people say NOT to fully discharge the battery but like you i have done so a couple of times with no problems, maybe if you were letting it do it all the time it could result in problems. I usually charge mine once it gets to anywhere between 10 to 20%.....there is no need to calibrate the battery, just follow the normal charging & discharging & your battery life will be fine :smileysmileywink:
