Orange UK Xperia S ICS

has anyone received ics for their orange uk xperia s (si 1257-5894)? Each time i use the online customer support they are eaither unwilling or unable to give me any sort of date for release. Being given the usual, check orange website for further info!!

Hi Buster,

I got my xperia s on orange a few weeks ago and had my update within a day. I think i did it through the pc software, bit of a long download but all went to plan. It didnt change any of my details/phone  content either

Same for me - did a live chat with Orange on Monday - unable to give me a date

I am also 1257-5894.

Guy on live chat told me to check the website, I told I could not find anything, so he said he would find me a link - after 15 mins of waiting for a reply I gave up waiting !

Come on Orange - according to Sony's John Cooper all Xperia S should be on ICS by now.

Received update on saturday 4th august. Anyone out there on orange uk who still hasnt received the update?

I am also 1257-5894. And I too haven't got the update.

Logged into the PC on Sunday night to be informed an update was available - tried PC companion and it failed to run so used SUS to update the phone

not had any problems with the build so far - battery lasts about the same as on GB and all apps are working.

But DO back up your contacts and messages before the upgrade and do a factory reset then upgrade in SUS to prevent any issues (worked a treat for me)

Once you log back into google play store your apps should start to re-install themselves (mine did) then restore your contacts and messages and your ready to go

Updated mine on Saturday morning, but I had to connect to PC companion to find if update was available.

No problems so far, have not lost any data or pictures or contact details.  So far happy customer.

I am also on 1257-5894. I've had nothing from Orange at all. I'm not really bothered to be honest, because many problems seem to come out when other forum members run ICS. I have loads of issues with PC Companion. Does anyone have an alternative program I can use to sync my Xperia S? Been trying to get connected for 3 days now.

Getting to regret straying away from my lifelong loyalty to Nokia. My wife has a Lumia 800, and it has no problems at all.

catnamedog, you could try using the Sony Update Service as an alternative which can be dowloaded from sony. This is what i used and the update worked flawlessly. See jdhutts post earlier about using SUS. I havent had any problems since the upgrade to ICS and all round the xperia s appears to run more smoothly. Good luck.
