Notifications issues

I have got my xperia z2 recently and its my first andriod Phone . I am Facing some problems with notifications

I dont Get any notifications while i get SMS by that i mean my screen doesnt lighten up while i get any sms notification

each time i unlock my phone i come to know i gotta sms. Friends say i should try some other party apps to get notifications. And i did try a few but none of them just works fine .

Second I have transfered All my SMS and calls history from my iphone to my xperia Which made the sms app very slow

to function. its takes atleast 3 to 4 seconds to even complete sending a sms. And now i am using a third party app to send sms which i dont like at all .

Hi, do you have all the settings at the correct way you want them for SMS....ie press the MESSAGING APP on your homescreen.....press the 3 dots up in the top right corner.....press settings from the drop down menu....this takes you into NOTIFICATIONS......here you can adjust the settings.....

Thanks

It wont light up the screen , unless the apps have the function to pop up on screen even screen is off.

Normally you can see the notification light to check whether got any notification or not.

Regarding the notification question, what you have described is normal for the handset, the display will not light up but you will get the notification light as advised above.

For the messaging application performance, it may be worth trying this however please be aware that this will clear the messages: Main Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Messaging > Clear Data.

If you are concerned that the LED colour, when a notification arrives, is the same colour a possible solution is to download a 3rd party app that you can customize to different colours for different notifications......

As mentioned the screen does not 'come alive' when any notification arrives.......if it did & you receive many, many emails/texts etc in a day or night it would affect your battery life & be very annoying at night Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes
