Notifications from apps

Hey, I have the sony xperia play for verizon. I am not receiving any notifications from facebook or other apps. Is there any bug fix for this, I bought this about 1 year ago and it has never worked right then I had a referbished one sent, for a cracked screen, and this one dosent work either. Is there any way to get this to work throught a different way? I can get notifications about 1 every 3 monthes for about 2mins.

through the facebook app or timescape? there was an issue with fb's latest update but Sony released a patch, I don't know if the big red has to approve it

go to settings > about phone > software update

I dont get notifications period(except for texts and missed calls)! I never got them through facebook or anything. i checked for new updates and its up to date.

that's quite odd, do you have facebook inside xperia? I know that verizon's variant of the Xperia Play it's a lot different, almost Android vanilla

no, its just the facebook app, its not avalible for my model.

it seems that Verizon's requested the phone to be like this, do you have the latest facebook app update?

also if you have any

taskillers

antivirus

battery apps

ram apps

booster apps

uninstall them and check again, if not you could try to repair your phone with PC Companion if that doesn't fix the issue take it to big red

I tried the pc companion and it woulnt connect to my phone. I've looked at the verizon support wall and everyone with the verizon Xperia play are having the same issues and that sony says its an issue with verizon, but verizon says its all sonys falt. Its an issues that needs to be solved between the both of them and not one or the other. I'm hoping a sony ericsson staff member looks at this, because its rediculus and needs to be fixed

you know how it is here in the US with the big 4 networks its never their fault its either the OEM or the user. it's odd that you do not get any notifications, not even whatsapp? do you have an antivirus or taskiller?

no notifucation whatso ever. i do have a task killer, but when i start it up in safe mode it still doesn t get them. it never worked before installed it.

repair your phone with PCC and then do NOT install any taskillers, as a matter of fact do NOT install any app > check if you do get notifications, I'm almost certain its an app acting up
