Notification sound problem

Hey all,

I just bought a xperia S and updated it to ICS.

I seem to have a problem with a notification even when the phone is locked.

It keeps giving the sound like when you would turn up or down the volume during media play. But this happens all the time.

When the phone is not locked it gives the symbol of the speaker when giving the sound.

I already repaired the installation with pc companion....

It is very annoying as it interrupts everything like when i'm typing a url for example.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or is this a hardware related problem and does it have to be returned to sony?

can you elaborate? have you reset settings? repair with SUS and do not install any app nor restore anything see if the problem is gone, if it is then the issue was an app

Thanks for the answer.

I will try this as soon as i'm home this evening.

I did not install any apps yet and i used pc companion to repair the software. I also did a factory reset.

But the problem was still there.
