I have just changed phones from a HTC 610 to a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact.
In the days of my HTC's (3 of them) I used to always get a notification sound when I sent an SMS.
With the new Z5 Compact this does not happen, I do get a little message saying "Sent" for a moment and a little green arrow flashes up for a few seconds.
Not having the best of sight, or when outdoors, I am often unable to tell if the SMS actually went out. Is there a way to get a short tone to let me know that the message went out? I just can't seem to find a setting.
Not sure if this is an Android issue (current is 5.1.1, previous 4.2 and earlier) or if it is a Sony Z5 issue.
It's not an issue, that's standard on Android, if the message was not sent you will get a message under the txt saying queued with red letters.
You can use third party apps if you want that sound notification.
Thanks uliwooly.
I had not thought that it could be an app specific issue. Having used all HTC's previously I guess they all had the same base app that beeped on SMS send. I'll have to have a look in the App store and see if there is a different SMS app if I can't adjust to the missing beep.
You can use Google Messenger
