I cant see any available ICS Updates yet using PC Companion,

I hope a Sony Moderator creates a SI number thread, if it's anything like the Xperia S it'll be a while before it reaches your country

Yes that would be most appreciated. It would avoid multiple posts on this issue here.

Thanks for the response Uliwooly. I hope Sony could create a list of countries and specify the date of release.

BTW is it safe to update if I change my IP to other countries?

Hello jimersslone,

you can try manually updating your phone,

here is the link http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/41609?start=0&tstart=0

it is equivalent to upgrading with PCC or SUS. (according to uliwooly)

just follow the instruction.

Matagal pa yata ang ICS sa atin.

Hi ryan, how old is your xperia p? i mean how long have you owned it? you see I'm planning to wait for the TX or SL, If SL will not have the yellow tint display i will go for it but for now I'm monitoring the thread of xperia P since I really like this phone even though it has a poor battery. I have the money to buy this phone however, I'm scared because it might mess up my phone when I update to ICS, just like what happened to my ray.

Sana dumating na agad ang ICS, dude pwede mo ba ako sendan ng pm once nakapag-upgrade kana?

thanks Slightly_smiling_Face Very much appreciated

don't wait for the SL, the Xperia SL is EXACTLY the SAME as the Xperia S, even the CPU, the only difference is that the Xperia S is clocked at 1.5GHz and the Xperia SL it's clocked at 1.7GHz. the Xperia GX it's the best so far (lt29i) quite similar to the lt30i

Hi uli, Xperia S is running on GB out of the box while SL will run ICS out of the box, In my opinion there is the "out of the box" emphasis because based from experience from xperia products, out of the box units run smoothly as compared to units that will later receive the update, EX is xperia Ray, runs smoothly on GB but when updated to ICS it lags like hell.

Same goes w/ the other low end 2012 phones, xperia 2011 has better hardware as opposed to the 2012 low end xperias but these low end devices run ICS very smooth because it came with it out of the box. which means they are optimized for that specific OS (ICS) while xperia 2011 devices are optimized for GB.

Having that, I'm guessing and hoping that SL will be a different one and again hoping that the "Yellow Tint issue" and the "Poor focusing problems" have been already addressed/fixed before releasing this product.

TX and T are really good phones but I think they will be really expensive so I'm still looking forward to SL, plus there's still Xperia Tsubasa which has a different firmware, maybe it will run on JB out of the box or it could be the Nexus phone from Sony.. who knows?

ICS it's already out on the Xperia S, so that's not a significant difference, it shouldn't be smoother than the Xperia S, just check back on the Xperia Arc and Xperia S, same example, there isn't much difference if any between the two.

you can NOT compare the 2011 and the 2012 Xperias at all, more over a mid low range xperia with a flagship.

Regarding the 2011 Xperias, I am aware that the 2011 Xperias could and should run ICS smooth, I have a thread on that.

if anything the Xperia SL shouldn't suffer from yellow tint as newer Xperia S don't have this problem.

The new Xperia TX and T should be about the same price as the Xperia S when it was first released, regarding JB it'll be nice for Sony to catch up with Samsung as Jelly Bean has leaked for the Galaxy SIII.
