No Autorotation

Have new Xperia P LT22i with Android 4.0.4. Autorotation does not work except in shoot mode for camera. Home screen, camera view, all apps - no autorotate. Have autorotation checked in Settings. Is this a hardware or software problem and can it be solved? Thanks for any help.

First of all try to restart your phone by press and hold the power button and the volume up at the same time until the phone vibrates.

If the problem still persists you can try to update/repair the phone software using the program PC Companion:

Thanks. Followed your instructions restarting by pressing the power button and volume up at same time and got autorotation to work briefly. After shutting down and later restarting it no longer worked. Tried this several times to no avail.

Then I updated the software as per your instructions and now have Android 4.1.2 installed. Still no autorotation and the power/volume up does not work.

Still not solved.
