In Kitkat there was an option to switch to airplane mode in the power / shutdown menu.
For whatever reason this is not present anymore in Lollipop.
Is there any place to contact Sony developers to add this back to the menu?
You can add it,just press on the small pencil to edit quick settings.
Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough.
By "power menu" I mean the one that pops up when you hold down the power button.
In this case, you should contact sony about this. Change of sound settings has been also removed from power button menu.
Right. Unfortunately I don't know where to do that for this particular problem.
I agree and wonder how they decide what features to add/remove from basic screens like the power menu. I never received a survey asking my input. Did any Z3C owner?
That said, I actually prefer the new swipe to access the log-in screen. It has stopped the pocket dialing when I carry my phone in my front cargo pockets. I would have *dozens* of new photos of the inside of my pockets and would hear dialing tones for each step I took if I didn't place the phone with the front screen outward, otherwise bumping against my thigh took photos and/or dialed on the emergency-call key pad. No problems since the swipe was introduced. Guess I was used to it since I recently came from an iPhone where swipe was standard. One thing I did like about iPhone was after you swiped and entered the last digit of your security code, the phone was unlocked. No need to press the enter key. I miss that.
I don't believe that this is Sony's doing but Google's. A quick web search reveals that every Lollipop device has the same functionality reduction including official Nexus devices.
Personally I also miss this feature a lot, however I like it that Sony doesn't modify Android too much and keeps a very stock feel like a Nexus device, so I think on balance that what Sony have done is the lesser of two evils.
I say complain to Google not Sony.
