My M5 is only 2 weeks old. Since 2 days ago, when I press the camera button, sometimes it doesn't work. The error message states that the camera may be used by other apps. I have already switched off Google Now and uninstalled several apps that I am not using. The camera still does not work sometimes. Any solution? Thanks.

Settings > apps > all > camera > clear data > restart the phone

or check on >> > safe mode

I have always faced this when I trigger the camera app from other applications, like whatsapp, hangouts.

I need to reboot the phone then the problem will be gone. So now I tend to take picture with the camera app first, then only share it out.

Hi uliwooly, thanks for your reply. I tried both of your suggested methods. None worked for my hp though. What 3Rd party app is the likely cause?

Hi ykphuah, thanks for your reply. I usually don't take photos via WhatsApp, etc. I just take them via the camera app. I'm still having the camera problem.
