Neo V touch screen does not shut off properly when I initiate a call or receive a call. While I am talking, due to the touch of my face on the screen, some other actions gets triggered like mute, or calling some other contacts etc. It is very irritating and scary to keep on checking whether the phone has gone into mute mode or not while talking. Please somebody inform whether you have faced this issue and is there any resolution for this.
go to dialpad and enter *#*#7378423#*#*
then select service test > proximity switch
then put your finger on the sensor and see if its working or not...
Make sure the proximity sensor is working (read slimshaddy's post) and also make sure there's no dirt on the screen. If you have a protective film or a screen protector attached you need to check this is properly attached since it otherwise can cause this problem.
Also, during a call you can press the on/off button once to turn off the display.
I have tried all the actions proposed by you but the problem still remains. When a call initiates, initially the screen gets shuts off due to the proximity sensor but after few minutes the screen actions gets active again and some other actions gets triggered probably by touch of the cheek.
Please provide some resolution to this issue.
Try to update/repair the software with PC Companion. If this won't fix the issue you should hand in the phone at a service center for repair. Bring the receipt as this is your proof of warranty.
Even i face the same issue in my mobile....i think its common for all mobiles of this model.....it is like we should not shake phone while speaking in the call as sensor is at the top ,and when we hold it along with the ear the sensor slightly above our ear lobes...so if we shake our phone...sensor does not work as there is no hindrance for it...Hence,this problem persists...Only thing Sony can do is providing an software update like when we press the lock screen button it should get locked even if we move the phone out of the ear while speaking....
