Need help resolving Xperia Arc lags issues

Hi,

I owe Xperia arc with update 2.3.3 Build 3.0.1.A.0.145. (Further update 2.3.4 not available in the region yet). I love this phone, but only problem I face is that sometimes is starts lagging in response, specially when I turn on the data traffic and sync. I do not see any reason for this to happen since it is pretty fast otherwise and I assume 1Ghz processor is good enough. Only sometimes it lags, and when it lags it makes it's almost unusable for quite sometime.

Is anyone else also facing the issue? Can anyone guide me towards a possible solution for the same?

I really love this device but this lagging issue kills me big time! Slightly_frowning_Face

I think the best way make it back to factory setting by doing hard reset......

do you install too many application in the same time?

i cant connect my wifi before, however it works and running smooth after i hard reset my phone.

remind: always backup your data first before hard reset.....

I have the Xperia Arc about 2 months now and Ive installed the app killer and also a free up cache app. They dont actually solve the issue I find.

The only thing that speeds up my xperia arc is if I delete all my text messages. Navigating through contacts or writing a text message is back at a decent speed.

When I run the cache app after I delete the messages, there is very little in the cache. But if I have 50 messages or more and run the cache app, it is constantly freeing up cache which indicates to me that the stored messages are having some kind of an effect on the cache.

Try that and see.

I too see that if I have too many SMSes, the phone response is slow. I have deleted unwanted SMS and the phone is quick now.

OK, I did a factory reset and it started to work at decent speed.

Regarding SMS, I have 1000s of SMS in my phone and I took backup and restored it after the reset. My phone still works fine with those number of SMS.

Task Killers din't help a bit and as shared above hampered performnace even further.

I am not sure as to what exactly caused the problem, I dint had that many applicaitons installed either, and of what I had most of them I shifted to Memory card.

Just did a recent update to 2.3.4

Although my phone was working fine for quite small time after the reset, but I again sense a bit that it is getting slower.. Something of which reminds me with the famous MS Windows Slightly_frowning_Face

I too think may be it's Android thing something with cache or something not necessarily with SE.
