Hi,
I owe Xperia arc with update 2.3.3 Build 3.0.1.A.0.145. (Further update 2.3.4 not available in the region yet). I love this phone, but only problem I face is that sometimes is starts lagging in response, specially when I turn on the data traffic and sync. I do not see any reason for this to happen since it is pretty fast otherwise and I assume 1Ghz processor is good enough. Only sometimes it lags, and when it lags it makes it's almost unusable for quite sometime.
Is anyone else also facing the issue? Can anyone guide me towards a possible solution for the same?
I really love this device but this lagging issue kills me big time!

So I can understand your problem better, when you say the phone lags, do you mean opening applications? Any specific apps you are referring?
There is a possibility that the phone can seem slow if too many applications are opened and remain in the back ground.
download advanced task killer from the android market..
it'll help to kill apps u dont wish to run..
note: some apps will restart itself cz they cant be terminated..
also go to settings > applications > runing services..
and from there also u can kill apps by clicking force close..
and see if ur Ram is used the least..
I have been facing this issue
Sometimes UI just freezes completely. Its very annoying.
It mostly occurs when I swipe through homescreens or swipe through decks in tweetdeck
One thing i notices was it occurs when app is opened after long time of idle period
TweetDeck, Whatsapp and Official GMail app are the worst in this matter
may be I notice them much because i use them a lot 😛 but never came on dolphin browser
Is this android issue or SE issue?
I googled a bit and read few articles mostly they said that HW accerlaration is culprit
I also read that Samsung implemented it on S2, Is SE following steps?
Arc has 2.3 now
It has been said by many experts that using Task killers on versions beyond froyo will only hamper performance
hmm..i dint know that..
thanx for telling..
download this
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&feature=search_result
this will help u to have the maximum space in your internal memory..
maybe its lagging cause u have application installed in ur phone memory..
just check it..
also tell us the available and used ram, available and used space on sd card and internal memory..
go to settings > applications > manage applications
and u'll see at the bottom all of the above...

In the above article there is this paragraph about RAM not about internal storage but RAM
“Linux however isn’t generally affected by this. While I admit that I don’t know the architecture and reason for this… linux will run the same regardless of if you have 20mb free memory or 200mb.”
I just want to know is this SE issue or whole android faces ocassional slow response.
I do not think it is particularly a SE issue. It can also sometimes be caused by the app itself. eg. if not written well it may not release resources back to the phone properly.
In general any device that relies on CPU, GPU, RAM, OS, etc if there is insufficient resources at a particular time, it will have to prioritise what it does.
If it means to load your programs slower so that it does not crash or shutdown, it will do that.
I too experience lags in my phone. eg. sometimes when exiting out of an application, the screen icons takes a few seconds to fully reload on the screen.
The phone is just like a PC, if it runs out of resources, it slows down.
I have friends with non SE Android phones, they too have lags at times.
All phones have a certain limit before you notice it slowing down a little.
