Need Help!!! Facebook app consuming more ram

Facebook for android  app is consuming around 41mb of ram. Even after I close, it's running backgroung and consuming aroound 36mb of ram. Is it normal or it happens to me alone :smileyconfused:.  Now my concern is does it affect my phones performance or batt life??

I just use it to view posts and has also sync with calendar, so I cant log out either.

are you sure its the facebook app and not facebook inside Xperia?

if you set the app to sync automatically and quite often, it will be running in the background, thus taking a big part of RAM, also if you use timescape it will drain your battery, in my opinion timescape its pointless.

Didnt use timescape. Turned the refresh option to never. But still it's runing background. I use facebook inside xperia to sync my calendar and facebook to view post. It's the fackbook app that consumes around 40 mb where as facebook inside xperia consumes around 1.5-3mb.

open the facebook app -> press MENU -> logout and when you stop using it do NOT press HOME, press the BACK button and that will close the app, unless you have timescape running or updates running on your phonebook.

Did a factory reset. Updated the fb app to new version. Again same prob. This time i didnt sync calendar and contacts too. It consumes around 36mb now. It runs even after i log off from facebook and use back button to exit the app. After I login it starts a new process called background data detection. I think it increases the ram. Cos before i login for the 1st time it was around 6mb.

Atlast found the solution. I think its common to all. Saw few threads with same prob.

It takes almost upto 60mb of ram sometimes and later restars itself after 1 hour (can vary). Now using nly 6mb of ram

yeah, it depends if you are using it, but make sure that for now on, whenever you are done using an app you press the BACK button, that will stop the app, instead of being running in the background, it'll be dormant
