My Xperia S cannot connect to PC companion or Update service!

My xperia s is not turning on. I do not know what the reason is. Suddenly once using the screen just went blank. So mu friends suggested me to use Sony update service but again it gets stuck in the following screen.

Untitled.jpg

I thought it is not detecting because the driver may not be installed correctly so checked the device manager but the flash driver name "semc flash device" was installed and there was no exclamation mark over it so i guess there is no issue with the driver. My computer does detect the phone as while connecting to pc i hear the alert and even while disconecting.

i tried doing exaclt as they said...

So now i am clueless on what to do... please help ?

it seems that you have Win8, if that's so, neither PCC nor SUS are compatible with Win8

I've found the solution! On some android devices (such as mine) you have to press and hold the turn on button too. So this is the procedure:
1. Connect USb cable to Pc and Mobile phone
2. Press and hold Power button and volume down until green light appears.
4. Release buttons and you are done!
You may need to turn off firewall.
