I have done everything I have been told, except for using the original USB lead, I had bought another charging lead for in-car use. Started using this on the pc, did not realise that this has been my problem all along. As soon as I have used the original lead it has connected. Tried it on Windows 7 & XP, as soon as I use the non erricson usb lead it will not connect. Charge yes, but not connect.
I have tried almost all to connect my phone via usb to my laptop but its just not working. I have tried two options of swtching the storage as well tried debugging usb option. Its just not working . I have enough space and the data too is not that big. I checked connecting my phone to other laptops but its jst not working. My phone is able to charge itself through a laptop but it is not detected as a storage device or a media device for that matter. Can someone please please help. I have just changed my country and i have some very important things pending because of this. Please help

Microsoft Windows XP and 2000 users
To open Device manager on your computer
On the desktop, right-click on My Computer and click Properties.
In the System Properties window, click the Hardware tab.

Scroll down to the Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB section) of the Device Manager window.
Look for an MTP Device: Media Device, Unknown Device or any other reference to your phone. Click on this entry and choose "Uninstall" whilst leaving the device connected.

Now, the phone is accessible via Computer/My Computer on your computer.
