My Review Of Xperia T 4.3 Update

Hello People,

I updated my phone on 4.3 one day ago. Im very much satisfied with it. First thing that I want to talk is of battery. Battery life has improved a lot!!!. My battery was not good on 4.1.2. Even it was bad than ICS 4.0.4 but now IM using 4.3 and IM happy with battery life. Second thing is performance. In performance Sony has done a great job. It has reduced the lags and also loading of app is better than before. But only issue is with camera app. Camera app takes 2 seconds to launch, whereas rest of the stuff is fine. Third thing is the interface. As compared to previous version(4.0.4 & 4.1.2) interface is pretty much same. Only the app drawer icon is different and the setting menu is having white background. On lock screen you will also get very nice widgets like of calendar, gmail, clock etc. On fourth its the Sony apps. There are new versions of Sony app which are also pretty much similar to previous versions. Now comes the main issue with this ROM 4.3. That is the usage of RAM. This 4.3 rom is actually designed for xperia z and z1 which are having 2gb of ram, where as the phone is having 1gb of ram. Google says that minimum ram for 4.3 is 1gb and recommended is 2gb for better use. So when you phone is on sleep it will still be using 600mb of ram when you wake it the usage will jump to 780mb. This means that you will be left with only 200mb or less free ram. In ICS and 4.1.2 the free ram was 400 to 500mb depending upon how many apps you have installed. I want to mention one thing that I only having stock apps in my phone and still it is usage 720-780 mb of ram. So this was my review of xperia t and tx with 4.3. What you guys think about yours update. Do share it.

Thanks

I want to add this too, that this 4.3 rom camera app is having all new interface. It is better than the previous one. It is also having new feature too like making sketch of picture and absorbed colored picture etc. These features are very much like that of adobe photoshop. No doubt that they are very cool Smiling_Face_with_Sunglasses

Hello everyone I updated my Xperia T to Android 4.3 one day ago. Well I 'm very happy because after a necessary factory reset, I was able to look that my battery life is much more tha Android 4.1.2 and the entire works faster, smoother an more helpful than ever! The only thing that I am little disappointed is that can't find the way of having a screenshot because I need it this app and it was very helpful for my work... But in the end, Sony was a little late of rollin out the update, but I have to say that Sony have done a very good job! Congratulations!

I think this update very good and very cool. Wifi range improve so much, battery life very good, and like usual sony's ui very good looking.
I didnt experience the charging problem like some people. I'm also charging in the night, but i'm using timer, so it didnt overcharge. My alarm rang like before (using 4.1)

you guys are 100% right sony have done a fantastic job on 4.3 ROM its is a lot better than previous roms especially 4.1.2. Battery life has improved alot I would say 35% more battery life than previous roms including ICS. It  is also smoother and faster. 4.1.2 was having a bit of lag but this one is not having that.:smileyhappy: RAM is only concern but it is now better after factory reset.

Hi,

I am using 4.1.2 android on xperia TX. I want to update to 4.3. But i have few questions regarding its performace change.

1) Heard that camera opening will take around 2 to 3 seconds on xperia tx 4.3 android version and same camera quality. Is there any change in camera video quality on skype?

      I mean,

      a) Is skype video opening also taking 2 or 3 seconds to open video call?

      b) if call goes long on skype,is there any video or audio call quality impact?

2)  As 4.3 OS consume more RAM around 700MB as per discussion blog. Is there any impact on application installed for emails and other apps?  How many application can i install on it?

Regards,

Sukhdeep Singh

Hi Mr. Singh,

Yes you heard it right, sadly the camera on 4.3 takes 2 to 3 seconds to launch. As far as Skype and Viber quality is considered they have same quality as of previous versions (4.1.2 & 4.0.4). But if you want to do video chat, the launch of camera will take 2 seconds. If call goes long there is no change in audio and video quality, its perfect and audio is crystal clear.

Now coming to the issue of RAM. Let me tell you that im only having stock apps i.e. preinstall apps, and 5 other basic apps, im having no game or any other kind of heavy duty app on my mobile but still it uses 700 MB RAM. On 4.1.2 and ICS is was using about 500MB of RAM. So this means that i cannot run alot of apps in background. If im running alot of apps there will be a RAM Warning and I have to close apps. Performance there is no impact on apps, but as said by other bloggers and me the performance of 4.3 is alot better than previous versions. It is much smoother and faster. Battery life has 30% increased. You can also view the review of 4.3 on youtube and other websites. Those guys will be having their own point of view about this update. But let me tell you alot of people like this update.:smileyhappy:
