My phone is taking forever to charge!

I am charging my ZR for the FIRST time. I allowed the battery to drain completely first and then I plugged in to the charger. It took more than 7 hours to reach the charge till about 90%. I am the charging the phone in switched off condition.
Should I be worried? OR Is it normal of the phone taking so much time to charge?

It is a little too much.You needn't charge it in turned off mode.You should have turned it on after connecting to wall charger.

usually when draining battery to empty wont let you power phone back directely once you connect it to the wall then battery will remain empty untill 1-2 hours then it will be able to power on.

Yes,it should have charged for some time,than he would have been able to turn it on.But 7 hours it is a long time...

yes but he letted phone off to charge so instead of charging it while on mode it's on off mode and i think either ZR or ZL had bigger battery capacity which means it can take longer to charge depending on what charger he used as well if input is lower than normal then it will go slower to charge.

ZL or ZR have somewhere around 2300-2500 mah and if the charger is slower,it can take some time...

ZR's battery is of 2300mAh.
I used the original Sony's charger..it took about 10hours to me to charge the battery fully until the LED turned green..
And when I saw the battry % it showed me only 90%...
Also today from the morning I've downloaded Real racing 3 (didnt install it only downloaded about 12mb), Whatsapp (12mb) and updated Chrome(28mb),Maps(7mb),adobe reader(7mb) and facebook(17mb)...in about 2hour on 2G the battery life collapsed to 40% from 90%...
Please guide me guys...I'm quite worried about my battery...:(

After you buy a phone,the battery is not stabilised yet.It is very important to make it's charging cycles(do not keep it charging like in the old days for 12-24 hours).Just drain it to 0-10% and charge fully.Also,the OS must take some time before optimises processes for the battery.I suggest you wait about 1-2 weeks,if still having problems,tell us.

Thank you guys for your guidance...
But I found that my sony's charger was faulty so I replaced it and now its charging properly...
I also did the 4.3 update..still facing the rapid battery drain issue..will observe for a week more or else will visit the service centre..
