My phone does not recognige while updating

Team,

I bought the phone txt pro  months back bacause of your high market reputation...I had mobile like HTC G available...but from my lappy,camera to phone,I always depended on Sony.So I bought this one.

The mobile is good...but I need to update it...problem...while updating...at 'Connecting your phone' page,I did everything...but it does not recognige.......so I can not go to the next page...can you please help ASAP.

It gets connected as external device,I can see the drives in my pc,but the update software dont recognige it....please please please help anyone........please

Are you ensuring the phone remains powered off through the full updating process?

If you have windows 7 look in "Action centre" white flag on taskbar

In there you will find a message from Microsoft offering a solution saying you must download an older version of the Sony Update Software 'cos

"there is a driver missing for this version of windows 7"

Once you do this and load the older Sony Update software (also called "PC companion"?) - the first thing it does WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION is update to the latest software.

So, we are stuck in a loop getting nowhere because of 'smart a r s e' ericsson programmers who don't think things through!

try swiching on and switching offf the phone again... had the same problem, did this and it worked!!!

Same problem here. Phone is powered off but displays a msg saying "phone ready to be used with computer". Phone has been detected on the computer but the process is not moving forward (no communication with the update service). I have the "previous" button at the bottom right but "next" button doesnt appear. Can someone also tell me for how long do i need to keep pressing the home key. I am on Windows Professional SP2. Someone please help. Thanks.
