my cell phone doesn't save names in contact

Why does me cell phone can't save names in contact list.?

I'm having excatly the same problem, as yet can't work it out. perhaps someone at sony is reading this and can answer!!!

You will likely find that they are saved, they are just being filtered.

To update the filter in Contacts

1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Contacts.
3. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then tap Filter.
4. Under FILTER CONTACTS, unmark the Contacts with phone numbers or Online contacts checkboxes
5. Under DISPLAY CONTACTS, select each contact service / account and mark the checkboxes for what contacts to be visible.
   For example, under Facebook mark the All contacts checkbox to view all your Facebook™ friends in the Contacts app.
6. When you are done, tap Done

Thankyou, done the filter, contact names came up. Why make these things complicated? It it was wasn't For this forum I'd of never found out about the filter!

Hey guys,

Sorry for bringing up the topic but I have very similar problem and can't find a way to fix it. I'm with Sony Xperia Z2 and suddenly my phone doesn't save names to the contacts. When I try to save a new number and when I type a name + DONE, I get the contact only as a number. Tried to play with all filters but still the same, restarted the phone couple of times without any results. Please help – thanks.

I can't even sync contacts with my PC via USB cable. I'm getting "The synchronization failed due to an unknown error". Please help guys, its very annoying and I’m losing some of my contacts already...
