Hi, Need your expertise.
I've downloaded the xperifirm but it does not recognise the C4 phone as the screen is locked. ( The phone worked absolutely fine for the past two months and then suddenly this).
I downloaded the sony flashtool and there also the phone is not recognised (says attach the usb phone but the pc shows the C4 as connected). So either way I'm unable to use either the xperifirm nor the flash tool.
I've downloaded an older firmware but how do i load it to the phone since its showing protected and nothing moves except connect to wifi?

I think that you just need to install the USB drivers, that's why your phone isn't recognised.
Do you have Sony pc companion on your computer?
In which state did you have the phone in when it recognized your phone in FlashTool? Was it in Reovery, Safe Mode, Fastboot, and did you hold down the volume down while plugging in the cord to your computer? Because I can't get flash tool to recognize my phone either.
I finally got my detected in Emma (FlashTool) but it says "Locked phone detected" and it won't let me do anything. So there's no way you could have done this without unlocking your bootloader, and that's almost impossible to do when I'm locked out of the phone from this incredibly stupid security feature. I swear nothing has ever annoyed me so much with a phone than this.
I'm sorry to hear that.
I've received more information about this and if you are unable to unlock the phone and you are unable to perform a software repair using PC Companion or this doesn't help, the phone needs to be taken to a service centre to have this fixed. For more information on how and where to submit your phone for repair, please contact your Local support.
Don't unlock your bootloader
follow the instructions in here and everything will be ok
( remember to pick the right firmware, an older version than 27.2.a.0.155, and to put a low USB speed )
normally if you upgrade with MXTP turned off, you won't have that problem.
But I kept my phone with the older firmware
I'm waiting for sony to give us a better version befor upgrading again
i have updated my phone with MXTP off . no issue faced . i guess if you kept MXTP on then all messed up started.
for safer side i request everone update only with MXTP off.
It's weird because I have theft protection turned off and I also have my Xperia disabled under Device Administrators but when I pull down the status bar it sais "Device May Be Monitored" and when I click it, it tells me that my device is being monitored by myXperia.
