Hi!
have Xperia Z ultra with Lollipop and "google now" search with Voice option ("OK google").
For some reason I can search now in the google search bar only for pre-defined (pre-suggested) word combinations.
If I enter a word combination that was not pre-defined - there is no "Search" symbol I can press.
On Samsung I do have a search symbol on the keybord, but XPERIA keyboard does not have it.
And the google bar itself shows at the right end only X sign instead of search sign.
It is really annoying being able to search only pre-suggested combinations.
How / where can I activate the search symbol? - either in google bar or in a keyboard..
well I have 2 devices
1. samsung phone with search symbol on the keyboard .
On this device I am able to type in for example hln and (ignoring the corrective suggestions) press search symbol on the keyboar. Voila - I get search results from google.
2. Xperia Z Ultra with Xperia keyboard - without search symbol.
On this device I also type hln. Now all I can do is to choose one of theree suggestions (hlnl, hlntv and hlnk 1523).
So how can I search on Xperia for hln?
I just want to clarify, are you referring to the
Search icon on the home screen?
Search icon "google now" when you swipe from the bottom center of the screen up ?
If possible add screenshots
I am not sure if Xperia keyboard ever had this search button. But as long as google bar itself had it it was ok.
After one of the last updates I have this "ok google" thing with microfon symbol. And the search button is gone.
I am referring both to the "Search icon "google now" when you swipe from the bottom center of the screen up " and Search icon on the home screen
Are you using a different home launcher?

UPDATE
the solution was simple..
what samsung shows as search symbol on the keyboard - xperia shows as "broken arrow" enter symbol .
so I can actually type hln and then "enter" and it the search works.
