Hi.
I have updated my z3 LTE tablet for the long awited Lollipop.
The main reason for my upgrade is multiuser/profile support.
After the update it seems like multiuser support is now added but profile/restricted Profiles is not supported. Which is a big drawback for families with kids😢
Have you tried a restart? Tap once on done in the notification bar where you select the users. Try to restart too.
Reboot has also been tried. I can only hope for a fix in android 5.1
There's a difference between the WiFi model and the LTE model in this case. On the WiFi model you can create restricted accounts but not on the LTE model.
I'm not sure why that is but it may be related to the LTE model using phone software. I'll try to find out more about it.
Tanks @Rickard, I really hope there will be a fixed, as the LTE tablet fails as a family tablet without this baisc android feature 😞
I have forwarded it internally for more information and i'll update you as soon as i have more information. I suspect the reason for this is that LTE model uses phone software so that you can use it for calls. We don't have restricted profiles in our phones.
@Richard thanks for the anwser, I hope that Sony sees this as a missing feature as when I bought this item I bougth it as a tablet not a phone/padpone.
Right now my only solution is to root the tablet and install cm12 wich is not what I hoped for.
I have received information that in Lollipop, Google has removed support for restricted profiles in devices with a mobile data connection and dialer. It's still supported in WiFi devices so i'm afraid i have no solution for this.
Thats stange.
My old nexus 7 2013 with LTE and lollipop could make resticted profiles. But my daughter broke the screen and I thougth I should "upgrade" to a sony z3 compact LTE.
So I got myself a big phone 😞 thougth I bougth a tablet with LTE 😞
Its too old to ask the shop for a refund or a swap to a wifi version 😞
