Missing browser icon?

I just got my new CK15A yesterday, and cannot successfully browse.  Unlike many of the other questions posed here, I have been able to successfully connect to my WIFI router - it says 'connected', and I'm also able to get Google Chat to connect and work successfully.  However, the User Guide that came with the phone refers to using the "www" icon to open a browser window.  I can find no such icon anywhere, neither on the Home screen nor in the apps list.

Additionally, there are four icons showing in the corners of the home screen.  Three of those four (envelope for messaging, numeric pad for calling, and phone directory too) make sense and work correctly.  The fourth one is the picture of the earth.  I suspect this might simply be an icon replacement for the "www" icon referred to in the User Guide??  Either way, when I tap on it, a dead blank screen emerges, not a browser app.

Any suggestions/ideas/counsel?

You are correct in assuming that this is the replacement for the browser icon. Do you also have an option in the main menu referring to Browser and do you get any error message when you hit this icon?

Thanks for the reply Sam.  No, there's no icon/app in the main menu to point to Browser, but you were correct, that icon on the home page is in fact the new Browser icon.

As a T-Mobile subscriber (but without data plan), I dropped by the T-Mobile outlet where a really helpful agent figured it out.  It's quite counterintuitive...

Despite NOT having a data plan, I still must configure the Mobile Networks setting for the T-Mobile network, and must also change the Internet Settings, Connection Point settings (just as though I had a data plan with TMobile, duh):

APN=epc.tmobile.com

DNS address= http:mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

After that, the Browser icon suddenly started working - no more blank wallpaper, but the WWW button and address bar appeared.  This is still utilizing my home router/WIFI, and not using the TMobile network, but nonetheless, you must configure the Mobile Network.

I now have to repeat this exercise again but finding the Rogers equivalent settings in Canada!  Wish me luck.
