Microphone Mutes During Calls with Wired Headphones

Hi all, I have a Sony Z3 D6653 running Android 5.1.1 and I have noticed a slightly frustrating issue. When on a call using the Sony headphones that came with the phone, everything starts off well. When the screen locks however, the microphone on the headphones mute. Unlocking the screen does not unmute the headphones, nor does muting and unmuting the call through the phone application. The only way to unmute the microphone is to unplug the headphone, then the phone's microphone will work. It also starts working once the headphones are replaced. Has anyone experienced this problem, and know how to fix it? I have been having bluetooth microphone problems, which I still haven't resolved, and will post on another thread. In order to try and fix that, I have taken off noise suppression, equaliser, and any other microphone / noise related enhancements. I have left Okay Google working on all screens though. I hope someone can help.

Hi all, I have a Sony Z3 D6653 running Android 5.1.1 and I have noticed a slightly frustrating issue. Some time after using a bluetooth headset with microphone, all calls are muted from my end. It seems to only occur after using the bluetooth headset. I haven't tried different types of headset yet. I have taken off any microphone enhancements like noise cancelation, and I have taken off any equiliser settings. I have left Okay Google working from any screen.

I would really appreciate any help on this one.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for that. I gave it a try and did some thorough testing. Unfortumately, it didn't help. After using headphones it the microphone would cut out on the headset.

My testing found that the issue occurs when the screen turns off. I could ensure the screen turns off by pressing the power button. I have configured the power button so that it locks the screen, it does not end the call.

What I found is that when I lock the screen, I could pull the headphones out and put them back in again, and the microphone would once again work. Also, after I pulled the headphones and reconnected,, it no longer mattered if when I unlocked the screen and locked it again. The microphone would still work.

Strange.
